Anne Clark

Anne Clark is a Senior Advisor at Ashoka Belgium.  She is one of the co-leaders of the 7 Key Questions Workshop.  Anne is a US national who has been living in Belgium for the past 25 years.  She has experience both in the private sector and the social entrepreneurial sector.  Her responsibilities at Ashoka include Venture, Fellowship and the Changemaker Schools Program.


Edith Kroese

Edith Kroese, founder and senior impact adviser of Avance (the Netherlands), is one of the speakers in our workshop on impact assessment. The focus of her work is on (re)shaping organisational culture and structure to achieve maximum impact. She is convinced that, to make a real difference, organisations must first start thinking in terms of impact, and that measuring impact—in other words, making it visible—plays an essential role in this process.

Mel Young

Mel Young, founder of the Homeless World Cup and UK Ashoka fellow, has dedicated over two decades to tackling homelessness in Scotland, in the UK and around the world. As serial entrepreneur, his most recent achievement is catalysing the global use of football as a means to engage and empower homeless people to change their lives, and successfully bridge them into a sphere of inclusion. Mel Young is the NEWIDEALS keynote speaker on Monday.

Practical information


The NEWIDEALS programme starts on Monday 21 September at 10.30 a.m. You are already welcome in NEWIDEALS from 9.30 a.m. onwards. The conference ends Tuesday 22 September at 5 p.m. The venue is BOZAR in the heart of Brussels (click here for access information). BOZAR is next to the Brussels central train station, so please don’t come by car!

In NEWIDEALS you will discover a vibrant programme with workshops, clinics, a debate, keynotes,… A showcase where the NEWIDEALS locals will present their projects will be open ongoing. There will be plenty of opportunities to get in touch with inspiring social innovators and social entrepreneurs and to enlarge your network. Off course you will also be treated with lunch breaks, coffee breaks and a Belgian dinner.

All tickets for NEWIDEALS are valid for both days. Some sessions will be repeated on Monday and Tuesday, so you will certainly have the opportunity to follow the presentations of your choice. Workshops and keynote speeches will be held in English, you can also take a Dutch spoken tour at the NEWIDEALS showcase.

Do you need advice on places to stay in Brussels? Visit visitbrussels.be or brussels.use-it.travel. If you come a day in advance, please note that Sunday 20 September is car free day in Brussels, with loads of activities in the city centre.
